SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD ENHANCEMENT AND ENTERPRISE PROMOTION (SLEEP)

Chaitanya Bharathi with the support of HIVOs, Netharlands, Rashtriya Garmin Vikas Nidhi (RGVN) Bhubaneswar has initiated sustainable livelihood enhancement and enterprise promotion project in 7 villages of Rambadhrapuram mandal, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, India. with an objective to empower the women in agriculture by making systematic interventions to enhance their participation, productivity and also to create sustainable livelihoods to rural women by establishing efficient local resources where women in these sectors gain more control over production, resources and manage the support systems based on the following objectives and activities

OBJECTIVES

	TO mobilize women farmers for forming producer groups .
	To improve the skills and capabilities of women in agriculture .
	To create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women in agriculture through organic farming practices, NPM and value addition .
	To facilitate access to fair & remunerative market including linking producer groups to marketing opportunities by market aggregators.
	To develop required manuals .
	To enable the producer cooperatives to have access to the schemes of the government and other agencies .
	To promote producers company / cooperative society .

ACTIVITIES

	Formation and strengthening of producers company & cooperatives.
	Initiation of livelihood activities, vegetable cultivation and value addition.
	Capacity building and skill development.
	Convergence and linkages.
