Chaitanya Bharati has been implementing ReWeave - reviving handloom weaving ecosystem in the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with the financial and technical support of Microsoft. The capital funding and interventions included counseling the weavers to be optimistic about their craft, conducting workshops to train the artisans innatural dyeing and design skills, bringing them customer orders of people interested in buying handloom products, mainly sarees, repairing their looms, sourcing yarn and other raw material for them, being with them throughout the process and solving problems as they came up. We participated in four national exhibitions during the year, showcasing and selling the products created through the revival. With a view to save the traditional weaving processes for future generations are documenting the processes of weaving in the five clusters namely ikat, Gadwal, Gollabhama, Bobbili and Narayanpet.
